[dɪs'kaʊntbrəʊkə, englisch], Wertpapierhandelsunternehmen, die Effektenkommissionsgeschäfte zu vergleichsweise niedrigen Gebühren, jedoch ohne weiter gehende Beratungsdienstleistungen anbieten. In Deutschland sind Discount-Broker (meist als Tochtergesellschaften von Banken) seit 1994 tätig. Ihre Dienste können überregional über Telefon oder Telefax in Anspruch genommen werden (Direct Banking).
